‘Style’ is a word that is thrown about all the time in regard to fashion, appearance and how people behave. Have you heard of ‘style personality’ though?

Humanity and nature must remain central to our endeavours if we are to transform the world we live in. We all have the power to connect with others, inspire change, share and work together.

Here are a few of the common questions I am asked about what I do..
Image consultants are professionals who assist you with professional presentation and communication. Not all image consultants offer the same services though, as many work only with attire.
I offer services in communication, body language, attire, as well as educational & consulting services in community and stakeholder engagement. I use these tools with clients to craft their message, presentation and communication for work situations like interviews, presentations, pitches and meetings.
My services are tailored exclusively for high performing professionals in business and service industries who want to master their presentation and communication style. I have extensive experience working with non-verbal communication & congruent messaging.
How you choose to present yourself at work or in life is complex. Your personality preferences, communication (verbal, visual and non-verbal), values, roles, aspirations, lifestyle, including what you like to wear are factors to be considered when deciding what you want to achieve.
The word ‘image’ conjures up ideas about ‘appearances’ and the impressions others may have of you. This association is heavily influenced by traditional Western culture that emphasises external validation of who we are. While image and reputation can be relevant for high profile roles, we know that transforming yourself from the inside-out is what really leads to growth and personal success.
It’s valuable to view the way we choose to present ourselves as a creative and expansive opportunity – even a form of self-expression. Humans grow and change throughout life. With each new work role, there is the chance to discover new strengths and talents too. It can also be quite fun to try out different aspects of our work persona, in the way we present, as opportunities come our way.
For those of us who are highly sensitive, it is critical to develop a strong work persona, as you navigate work and being ‘out there’. There really are concrete ways to do this when you work with your communication and presentation.
I am an independent image consultant, meaning I am engaged by clients to work for them, without third party influence. Image consultants work with more than physical appearance and impressions – head to the first question “What does an image consultant do?” for more information.
A stylist typically styles a model or person’s physical appearance for a marketing campaign or shoot. They may work with hairstylists, makeup artists, clothing brands and accessory suppliers as well as staging artists and photographers. Services are engaged for example, by influencers, celebrities, magazines, retailers and fashion brands. Generally, a stylist and/or the person being styled, will receive renumeration, bonuses or discounts for promoting or selling certain brands as part of the marketing campaign.
I work with business consultants, leaders and professionals who come to me for insight, advice, skills and strategy to strengthen the way they present themselves at work. The services I offer focus on communication (verbal, non-verbal/body language, visual), personality preferences, messaging strategy and work attire (including signature style and colour palettes).
Introverts, intuitives and empaths often value the opportunity to reflect on and muse over each session. I encourage clients to choose where they want to start, what they want to work on and how and when they want to do it (by email, video or in-person). This allows me to provide quality bespoke services to every client. You decide what is important to you and together we decide how to get there. I am an intelligent and creative person, and highly value working with people who prefer to follow their own calling rather than someone else’s idea of how they should operate.
Broadly speaking, executives and leaders of corporations, tech start-up owners, high profile government officials and diplomats, celebrities and public figures use image consulting services for a wide range of needs including personal branding, reputation and image management, event and media styling, personal shopping, social etiquette, communication skills and cultural advice.
Your movement does more than get you ‘from here to there’. It is also key to how you learn, communicate and express yourself in the world. Watch any actor, performing artist, musician or great storyteller and you will see the way they move enhances their performance and art enormously. It’s a communication asset that anyone can learn to work with!
With expressive movement and vocal coaching, using Laban Movement Analysis, I can assist you to have more impact with your communication, by lining up your movement/voice (non-verbal communication) with your key message, intention and words.
Perhaps you would like to change aspects of your communication and presentation style to be more adaptable? Working with your movement as well as speech can make this transition easier and give you better results than only working with what you have to say.
Working with me (using both movement and speaking methods), clients have successfully achieved, for example;
Neuroscience research talks a lot about movement, mirror neurons and spatial mapping in the brain as a key to how we learn from, relate to and communicate with each other. Working with your movement can fast track your learning and help you communicate better with other people.
The movement coaching offers safe ways to work with your style, that doesn’t involve having to dig into ‘feelings’ to get results. It also goes way beyond popular body language literature used in the corporate setting, which focuses on culturally endorsed static postures (eg ‘maintain eye contact’ and ‘don’t cross your arms’). We all know advice like this has huge limitations in the wrong context!
A corporate image consultant is paid by a company or organisation to advise leaders and executives on personal branding and reputation and/or upskill employees in a group training setting. Training may cover the organisation’s vision, culture, employee expectations, reputation, image, branding and how to role model specific service behaviours to clients. The aim is to strengthen positive perceptions and/or address negative perceptions, held by their target market or the public. In some industries, like sales, it may include targeted ‘soft skills’ training.
‘Soft skills’ is a term used in the corporate, careers and human resources sectors, to describe the personal attributes, character traits and interpersonal skills one brings to their work. I think of them as ‘human skills’ as they are key to how we interact as humans and how we prefer to work. Other terms similarly applied include ‘emotional intelligence’, ‘people skills’ and ‘situational awareness’.
The modern workplace typically requires people to work in multidisciplinary teams, sometimes across diverse geographical areas. People with soft skills are considered highly employable, productive and relatable. It is in our interest to know our strengths and work with building more of these skills over our careers. Oddly, many professions don’t invest in these skills, as the professional curriculum and training often prioritises ‘hard skills’ like technical and industry competency.
Examples of soft skills named in the literature includes:

What are we really doing when we use and observe non-verbal communication?
We are trying to make sense of and give meaning to what we see, hear, speak and experience.

Hello and welcome! I am an educator and consultant in Perth, Western Australia, offering in-person (locally) and online consultations worldwide (excl. USA & Canada). Perth city is located on the beautiful coastline of the south western corner of Australia, a global biodiversity hot spot of flora and fauna.
Acknowledgement of Country: Perth is in the traditional country of the Noongar people. I wish to acknowledge the Whadjuk (Perth region) people, as the traditional custodians of the land on which I live and work. I acknowledge and respect their continuing culture and the contribution they make to the life of this city and region.
Animals and humans instinctually look to the body first, to make sense of what is happening around them and in other creatures. We are largely unconscious of how much we rely on this amazing gift, yet we process phenomenal amounts of information in milliseconds every day, that guide us in our interactions and communication with others.
Being willing to work with our movement as a creative source, beyond popular body language advice of the culture, we can tap a huge reservoir of innate wisdom. Working with our gestures, postures and movement patterns, with our intentions, enables us to express ourselves with truth, conviction and empathy.
I work with professionals in the business, corporate and service sectors, where the term ‘soft skills’ is common. It seems to be used to clump together all the character traits and qualities that a person ‘displays’ beyond their formal or technical qualifications and skills. The work culture may easily type cast people (eg too quiet, ambitious), which needs resilience and wisdom to navigate around.
How I see it, is that we are whole beings, in action every day. The way we present and communicate, which in the workplace may be called a ‘soft skill’, is not at all fixed, and can be a rich source of growth. Indeed, humans have been playing with this, their style, clothes, self-expression and performance, for thousands of years.
Powerful speaking is experienced when a speaker can activate the audience’s imagination and senses. It connects people, ideas, emotions, stories and energies.
Many of the great speakers – the story tellers, performing artists, actors, spiritual advisors and motivational speakers – are almost always powerful in the way they use their movement and voice. They work with timing, rhythm, presence, shapes and intensity to reach beyond, into the hearts and minds of the listeners.
We each have our own unique movement and speaking patterns that can be harnessed and crafted, to master your own unique style and delivery.
